What happens during a home inspection?
A home inspection can help uncover hidden defects in a house. The home inspection takes approximately two to four hours depending on the size and condition of the house. A home inspection is more effective if the buyer is present. If you are unable to attend, we can do a video debrief via Zoom or another web-based app. Although you might not be able to attend the home inspector’s inspection report compilation, you can still review the findings and see the actual defects.
Inspectors inspect your home for major and severe defects that could affect your decision to purchase. You shouldn’t expect them not to comment on cosmetic problems that can be fixed easily. Home inspectors inspect the property to verify that all systems are working properly. To confirm stability, they also inspect visible items. Inspectors also look at the structural integrity of the home and whether there is any water damage. Repairs will be required if there are any problems with these items. These findings can be analyzed by reviewing the final report.
